KANIKANIK (or “Kanik”) is the nickname my grandmother gave me when I was a child.

If you like, you may call me Nik.

Most of my work would be best classified as illustration or fine art. It tends to be small, grayscale, and melancholy—made traditionally on white paper with graphite, charcoal, or ink. In 2018, while living in Mexico City, I decided to try something new—art that was big, colorful, and joyful. So, I began painting murals.

I’ve since departed beloved México and moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where I am attending Arizona State University to pursue a Master of Science in Graphic Information Technology.

Please reach out if you would like your own mural! Choose from these prepared designs, or think of your own subject. Would you like a mural but don’t live close? No worries. I will travel to paint.
